Donation Rules
- Only individuals normally resident in Ontario may contribute to a municipal campaign.
- Contributions must be made with the contributor's own funds.
- Corporations and trade unions cannot contribute.
- Federal and provincial political parties, constituency associations, registered candidates, municipalities, and local boards cannot contribute.
- The general contribution limit is $1,200 to one councillor candidate.
- The combined contribution limit is $5,000 total to candidates running for offices on the same municipal council or local board.
- Contributions over $25 cannot be made in cash.
- Municipal campaign contributions are not federal or provincial tax credits.
- Please provide your full name and address so the campaign can keep required records and issue receipts.
